Tegucigalpa With a view to guaranteeing the rights of children and facilitating migration procedures, the authorities of the National Migration Institute (INM) announced the reactivation of the benefit of the Special Seal of Permanence in the country. This legal measure is intended for children of a father or mother of Honduran nationality born abroad.

This migratory figure allows the minor to reside legally in Honduras until the age of 21, without the need to immediately process dual nationality. Upon reaching the age of majority established for this process, the young person may decide voluntarily and formally whether to acquire Honduran citizenship, giving him a wide margin to define his legal situation.

Reactivation of the Special Seal of Permanence

The institutional decision arises as a direct solution to the severe difficulties faced by parents in obtaining and submitting documents apostilles from abroad.

These bureaucratic barriers often delayed the regularization of minors, exposing them to a situation of migratory irregularity. INM simplifies administrative flows and ensures the legal well-being of families.

Requirements

-Solicitude of both parents addressed to the highest authority of the National Institute of Migration. This requirement must be presented at the window of the General Secretariat at the main office in Tegucigalpa or the Regional Office of San Pedro Sula.

-Original and passport copy of the beneficiary child.

-Original and copy of the identification document of both parents.

-Original birth certificate of the child duly legalized and translated into Spanish (original Authentica or apostille of the country of origin).

-TGR payment receipt worth L.200 (Lempiras).

- If you have a legal representative or representative, submit a document confirming the powers of representation.
