Who are we?

The National Institute for Migration (INM) is a public institution responsible for controlling and regulating migration in Honduras contributing to national security and respect for the human rights of migrants.

Mission

Ensure control and regulation as the highest authority in migratory matters, through the enforcement of the Migration and Alien Law and the State Migration Policy; by means of a modern, dynamic, and transparent migration management, contributing to national security.

Vision

To be a benchmark institution in the Central American region and certified in migration management and governance with efficiency, transparency and reliability in caring for nationals and foreigners; providing quality migration services, specialized personnel and advanced technology.

What is access to public information?

It is the right of every citizen to access the information generated, managed or held by the mandated institutions stipulated in the Law on Transparency and Access to Public Information.

In compliance as State Institute, we make our platform available inm.gob.hn where citizens can learn about statistics, irregular migration, regular migration and more.

What is the Transparency Unit?

The Transparency Unit or Public Information Office (OIP) is the unit within a State institution charged with ensuring compliance with the Law on Transparency and Access to Public Information (LTAIP). Its main function is to ensure that citizens can exercise their right of access to public information.

What is IAIP?

The Institute for Access to Public Information is the guarantor of the right of access to public information in Honduras responsible for promoting transparency, accountability and citizen participation.

Relationship between IAIP and the National Migration Institute

The National Institute for Migration, as a mandatory institution of the Law on Transparency and Access to Public Information, maintains a permanent commitment to access to public information, the publication of information ex officio, the handling of citizen requests, and the protection of personal data, under the guidelines and supervision established by the IAIP.
